Our very central location means you are not able to park at the apartment. We offer free parking for 1 car in a safe, privately run car park, located on Micklegate just 7 minutes walk away. We are located within the pedestrianised zone where "Foot-street hours" operate for loading and unloading. You are free to drive into the centre and park outside to load and unload between 5pm and 10:30 am (Monday-Sunday).
The car parking is very simple,with no annoying barriers or need for any special access codes, fobs or tickets. However you do need to provide us with your car registration number in advance of your stay, so that your car is authorised to park. We will send full directions for locating the parking and walking from there to the apartment.
A car is not necessary while staying in York as it is a small city and you are close to the centre.
Railway: York Rail Station 0.6 mile.
The property is a 5-10 minute walk or short taxi ride from York Train Station.
Facilities and amenities
Washer/dryer. Iron and ironing board, heated drying rack, vacuum cleaner and cleaning materials .
Plenty of room for storage of shoes and coats.
Electric radiators in each room control the heating and can be timed and thermostatically programmed for your personal comfort. Hot water is electrically heated in a well-insulated cylinder, again can be timed and programmed to suit. On arrival the heat & hot water system will be set to programs that we think will suit most guests but these can be changed by agreement - instructions can be provided.
Towels and linen are included.
Rent includes weekly cleaning if staying multiple weeks, with changes of towels and linen.
Outside and Access
The apartment is situated down Peter Lane, one of the quaint "snickleways" for which York is renowned. There are wonderful views across the higgledy-piggledy York rooftops as we are located at the top of the building. A secure bike store is located on the ground floor, accessible down the side alley with a key. The bin store is also located here.
Accessing the apartment:
The apartment has secure video/entry phone access with buzzer. A key is required to enter from the street, followed by a coded inner door. The lift or stairs can be taken to our floor, which is the top (3rd) floor of the building.
We can leave a key for collection and self check-in or meet you and show you into the apartment.
